Do you love animated films? We do! While scrolling my favorite internet forum, I encountered the question, “What animated movie would you confidently say is a perfect masterpiece?” So here are the top-voted animated films on the list.

The Secret of NIMH was incredible. It was the first time I saw that an animated film could be every bit as complex and sophisticated as live-action,” someone admitted. “It’s based on an excellent book and did a great job of living up to it,” another added.

9. Grave of The Fireflies (1988)

Fireflies get a 10/10, and I will never watch it again,” one person declared. “Yup. Best movie that I never want to watch again,” another agreed. A third added, “It’s beautiful but soul-crushing. The story will haunt you, especially since it’s semi-autobiographical.”

8. Aladdin (1992)

“Not only did Aladdin have Robin Williams, but it had so many jokes that children and adults laughed at for different reasons. The amount of innuendo was insane. RIP: Robin Williams, you’ll always be missed,” replied one.

7. The Prince of Egypt (1998)

“I’m not religious in any way, but wow, what an amazing film,” one confessed. “That opening sequence is one of the best movie openings ever, on the level with The Lion King,” another suggested.

6. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018)

“It’s crazy to me that, like, I live in a world where both Spider-Man 2 and the game Marvel’s Spider-Man exist, and I was still not ready for how good Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse ended up being,” admitted one.

5. The Emperor’s New Grove (2000)

“The diner scene kills me every time. I’ll put him in a box. Then I’ll put that box into another box. I’ll mail that box to myself, and when it arrives, I’ll SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER,” one person quoted. “Eartha Kitt’s voice acting is the greatest of all time. Such an underrated Disney movie,” another person added.

4. Spirited Away (2001)

“Absolutely. The art direction, the characters, the music, the story, and the huge amount of imagination and inventiveness went into it. I love this film so much,” replied one. “The train scene is easily one of my favorite scenes in any movie. Hauntingly beautiful scene,” another stated.

3. Princess Mononoke (1997)

Princess Mononoke is a significantly better story. The visuals aren’t as fantastical but talk about a movie where everything merges. Spirited Away doesn’t do it for me as Princess Mononoke does,” another argued.

2. The Iron Giant (1999)

“When I was a kid, my brother and I would stay at my grandparents’ house every Friday night. They would pick us up from school and give us candy, we’d go to Blockbuster, and I’d always rent The Iron Giant every week. That went on for years. I probably watched that movie over a hundred times. Fond memories,” someone recalled.

1. Wall-E (2008)

“The fact that so much character, story, and emotion is carried without words from the main protagonist floored me! It convinced me to get into animation at long last! Stunning movie,” one shared.
