Pause: 6 of the Worst Movies in Cinematic History

“Worst” is a strong word often used in extreme exaggeration. When we talk about the worst movies in cinematic history, though, we don’t take the word lightly.

Like the first time you got dumped or lost your first dog, these movies truly earn the title of “the worst.”

1. Scary Movie 4 (2006)

While any of the post-Scary Movie 3 parody films would fit in well on this list, Scary Movie 4 has a unique distinction. This was the film where a once-beloved series of horror film parodies sold out, exchanging raunchy but clever humor for fart jokes reproduced en masse.

2. Gotti (2018) In an era saturated by an endless flow of Spider-Man, Batman, and Wonder Woman, Travolta playing the Teflon Don was a welcomed change of pace.

3. Old (2021) As has become a common gripe for those who spend their time, money, or both watching a Shyamalan film, viewers also thought the ending felt like a lazy, juvenile cop-out inconsistent with the film’s premise.

4. Ultraviolet (2006) One viewer felt like the movie was burning their eyes, and a bystander recalls that viewer getting out of their theater seat, audibly cursing the film, and leaving the theater.

5. Brahms: The Boy 2 (2020) Critics give a pretty wide berth to the churn of B-grade horror flicks, knowing that they should temper their expectations before watching. So, the fact that Brahms: The Boy 2 earned a sub-5 IMDb rating speaks to how unscary the movie is.

6. Troll 2 (1990) Troll 2 copy-pasted the original plot, recycled the prosthetics from the original, cut all inklings of fun out of the script, and subjected viewers (who deserve some blame, too) to one of the most disturbing cinematic experiences imaginable.
